"Can you...?"
The answer is yes. Quite honestly, 99.99% of the time, yes is the answer. The page is
new 12*17*09. I've had this site for quite some time and I am forever updating it with my latest creations. I
have the constant, on-going sketch book that holds my ideas, the mental checklist and the wall in my kitchen is painted with
chalkboard paint so that on a whim I can sketch out my thoughts, ideas and people to contact...
Here is where I will answer some of your questions, please contact me if these did not cover the
subject you are curious about....

Allergies to polyester,
rayon and viscose...yes, I can certainly avoid those materials. Using cotton, hand dyed silk, dupioni silk, acrylics
and there are still other materials that are easily found to make your exact ideas become the safe, beautiful reality that
you have so craved. I am continuing my research in this and if anyone would like to comment on this, please feel free
to do so.
Going Green these days?
I am all for this planet, too. Of course there are no pesticides used in the creation of my flowers, which I know is
an obvious point, but still bears mentioning. In the past couple of weeks we have been bombarded in the news with the
controversies of carbon emmissions, green house gases and who and what is to blame for these dangers to our planet and our
lives in general. We are all going to be forced to make changes in our lives whether we want to or not. This was
my (first) motivation for learning to make flowers out of ribbon. I do love real flowers. I love digging up the
weeds in my yard with my hands and garden tools just because actually most of them pull up rather easily. But, really,
if I can put my head on my pillow at night and know that I am not contaminating any soil or polluting the air because I am
creating a bouquet of flowers for a bride. Plus, she gets to keep these flowers forever. They don't need watering, won't
aggrivate nasal allerigies and they certainly will not need to be chemically prevserved.
"Can you make...?" There really isn't much,
quite honestly, that I don't do creatively. I also enjoy mosaics. I have quite a few pices of furniture in my
home that I have refurbished. Some of these are straight mosaics (using broken tiles) and the majority of the pieces are created
with Shardart. Shardart, basically uses broken plates and "found" items, like pennies or cashew shells or
sea glass. I also enjoy sculpting with papier mach'e mash, making what I call "my ugly heads." Very
much Monty Python inspired. I have also created my "Old Man Drinking Coffee" using several different types
of foam; mostly Styrofoam and building material foam and even some sign carving foam (high density). He is fully
clothed in a tweed coat, shirt, pants, socks, shoes, the pants have belt loops and he is wearing glasses. His hair is
made of unraveled twine. But my focus has been my flowers for the past 5 years.
Customizing includes...Types
of flowers sizes, quantities, a different era, a slight change or a HUGE alteration to an existing piece (whether I made it
or you found it online by another artist). Yes, I can do it. And I'll bet I can do it for much Less ($$) than
the competition.
I
have a page coming very soon for DESIGNER KNOCK OFFS. I have
no doubt that I can make it. Yesterday I saw on the cover of Marie Claire magazine (Dec/Jan issue?) Natalie Portman
wearing a beautiful dress with a large flower on the waist. On the inside, near the article, she was wearing a similar
dress and flower only in a different color. I can make that flower, too. **
Feathered bracelets, boas, necklaces, sure and I have somewhat already. See my 2009 Weddings page.
The feathered headband was specifically asked to look that way, by the mother of the groom who purchased and designed it.
She did ask for my input, which of course I did give her, but I allowed it to be her own creation so that she would feel comfortable
wearing it. It is unique, pretty and understated and it fit HER personality. We did quite a bit of research on
feathers before deciding on which type would fit the situation and only then, we moved forward with the creation of the piece.
If you see it out there and want it, contact me, I'LL MAKE IT for you or
I can find someone who specializes in that area and I can set you up with them (dress design, etc).
I will be updating this page again, in the near future, other business awaits,
too. I have other creations that are very different than my beautiful flowers and have recently been created, still
by me and added to the site. See More Fabulous to see my Father Christmas and I will be adding the "Santa and Little Angel holding the Infant Jesus" to my site in the next
day or so. God Bless and please send in your questions. I am easy to reach and await your call.
